Guitar Storm
I learned guitar at church when I was 15. In youth group I picked up on most of the basic guitar chords, shadowing the other praise leaders (also my peers). Once you learn guitar, you will truly appreciate the sound it makes in songs that you hear.
The image on the right was inspired by a poem by Jose Palos, featured on a song "The Breaker's Commission" by For Today, a Christian metalcore band.
You can listen to the song here

Reach
My mind reaches for something, only to grasp in its hands this morning's breeze.
I'm looking through memories and futures, unsatisfied.
Finally I see, longing to be filled, a plastic cup.

Cute poem, but Romans 8:8 convicted me to look at Ephesians 2:1-10.
By Grace Through Faith
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

what do you wash your brain with?
Brain washing is generally frowned upon. I think we forget sometimes that we are influenced heavily by the world around us, through the media especially, and of course by the people we meet face to face on a daily basis. The influence of another person is sometimes unintentional, and other times intentional. Dictators and power abusers have used this as a method to dominate, control, and manipulate the people (unfortunate people) that they "take care of."
I like this term "brain washing" because I see several meanings within it. I picture a brain being violently shaken in a bowl of water, it's an unsettling image. Or in a washing machine, also unsettling. Adding detergent now... (I use classic Son brand)
Although brain washing has been misused as a tool to manipulate, it can be a valuable tool for an individual. So be careful what you watch, what you hear. And whatever you find and keep in your brain, make sure it's something worth keeping.
This blog post itself is an attempt to brainwash you!
Why use stale water? Let your brain get a nice rinse in a gushing river, or feel the refreshment of precipitation.

Inside Outside
Inside Outside
by Delirious
Inside outside, under my skin
Never ending love I don’t know where it begins?
I don’t know where it ends, I don’t know how high
I don’t know how deep, I don’t know how wide
Outside inside around the world
Never ending love envelops me like a cloud
I feel you in front, I feel you behind
I feel you up above, And I feel you at the side
And you, you’re all over me, you’re all over me
Your banner is over me, I give it all ‘cos
You still captivate me, fascinate me
You still captivate me, saturate me
Inside outside, pulling me in
No matter where I run I know you’ll never give in
I see you in the storm, I see you in a kiss
I’ve been around the world and never found a love like this
You’re all over me, you’re all over me
You’re everything I want to be
I’m all over you, you’re everything I want to see
You’re all over me
You, still captivate me, fascinate me
You still captivate me, saturate me
You still captivate me, liberate me
You still captivate me

When feeling lonely, who do you think about? Where does your mind go? What memories comfort you? I've been down many roads and did some things I am not proud of - today I felt the grace of God. He was reminding me that Jesus paid the ultimate price through His death and resurrection. It's up to me to trust in Him.
It was raining in Hawaii.
